A talented Bulgarian poet, Danila Stoyanova is not particularly well-known, but her poetry has been published in Bulgaria and the USA. Her verses are engraved on an outdoor mural in Leiden, The Netherlands, alongside the works of some of the world's greatest poets. She died aged 23 – and her poetry always spoke of life and death. 35 years later, her friends reflect on the meaning of their own lives through a dialogue between their memories of Danila and her philosophical poems.
One's absence can bring much more significance to our lives than the presence of many others.
