„The File Petrov” by Georgi Balabanov opens the 19th Sofia Film Fest

On March 5th with a special gala screening at National Palace of Culture's Hall 1, at 19.30 starts 19th Sofia Film Fest! The famous French screenwriter and winner of this year's special Honorary Oscar award for lifetime achievement will present in Sofia his movie, made in collaboration with the Bulgarian director Georgi Balabanov, who lives in France.

The 19th International Film Festival SOFIA FILM FEST

"It was all a big surprise - the mere fact that the film was in the program of Cannes, and the invitation to come back a few days after the screening. I knew we were getting an award, but I was not told which one. I was very surprised and extremely happy – My head is still in the clouds,“ says the director at the press conference after the ceremony at one of the most prestigious festivals in the world.
