Jameson Short Film Award
GRAND PRIX AWARD
FOCUSFOX GRAND PRIX AWARD for best film in the International Competition for first and second films, amounted to 10,000 Euro in post-production services provided by the Hungarian studio Focusfox, went to "Blind Dates" (Georgia) by director Levan Koguashvili.
SPECIAL JURY AWARD
SPECIAL JURY AWARD went to "Liar’s Dice" (India) by director Geethu Mohandas.
AWARD FOR BEST DIRECTOR
THE AWARD FOR BEST DIRECTOR went to Levan Koguashvili for his film "Blind Dates" (Georgia).
AWARD FOR BEST BULGARIAN FEATURE FILM
THE AWARD FOR BEST BULGARIAN FEATURE FILM handed by jury consisted of Kiril Razlogov (Russia, programming director of Moscow International Film Festival), Elma Tataragic (Bosnia and Herzegovina, programmer of Sarajevo Film Festival) and Lenka Tyrpakova (Czech Republic, programmer of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival) went to "The Judgment" (Bulgaria-Germany-Croatia-Macedonia) by director Stephan Komandarev.
JAMESON AWARD FOR BEST BULGARIAN SHORT FILM
JAMESON AWARD FOR BEST BULGARIAN SHORT FILM went to "Casablanca" (Bulgaria) by director Kolio Karamfilov.
JAMESON Special Mention
JAMESON Special Mention went to director Pavel G. Vesnakov and his film "Pride".
SIEMENS AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY
SIEMENS AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY handed by the international jury president Rada Sesic (festival programmer, Croatia-Netherland) and members Alba Sotorra (director, Spain) and Kostadin Bonev (director, Bulgaria), went to the film "The Act of Killing" (Denmark-Norway-UK-Finland) by Joshua Oppenheimer.
The Documentary Jury handed SPECIAL MENTION to the film "Life almost Wonderful" (Bulgaria-Belgium) by Svetoslav Draganov.
THE AIDIENCE AWARD of the 18th Sofia International Film Festival was chosen among the films in the International Competition and the Balkan Competition. The award went to "The Last Black Sea Pirates" (Bulgaria) by Svetoslav Stoyanov.
DOMAINE BOYAR AWARD FOR BEST BALKAN FILM
DOMAINE BOYAR AWARD FOR BEST BALKAN FILM handed by Balkan jury president Kakha Kikabidze (director, Georgia) and members Srinivasa Santhanam (festival director and programmer, India) and Stephan A. Shterev (actor, Bulgaria), went to "Yozgat Blues" (Turkey-Germany) by director Mahmut Fazil Coskun.
FILM CRITICS GUILD WITH THE UBFM AWARD FOR BEST BALKAN FILM
The Award of the Bulgarian Guild of Film Critics for film from the Balkan Competition went to "SaroyanLand" (France-Turkey-Armenia) by Lusin Dink.
The FIPRESCI Jury members Marco Lombardi (Italy), Dragan Jurak (Croatia), Maya Dimitrova (Bulgaria) handed out the FIPRESCI AWARD to the film "Blind Dates" (Georgia) by Levan Koguashvili.
THE YOUNG JURY AWARD
THE YOUNG JURY AWARD, presided by the actress Vessela Babinova, went to "Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot" (Italy-Slovenia) by Matteo Oleotto as the best film in the International Competition.
THE SOFIA AWARD
Within the framework of the 18th Sofia International Film Festival THE SOFIA AWARD of the Sofia Municipality for contribution to world cinema was presented to:
