IMPROMPTU Bulgaria-Romania, 2026, 20 min, color

Lora (34) and her dog Harry share the same morning routine every day: an elevator ride with their neighbor Lyakov (80) and his dog Gerda. Lyakov, a retired piano teacher and “the grumpiest man alive,” never greets them.

One morning, however, Lyakov speaks to Lora and unexpectedly kisses her. This incident sparks tension between the two families and forces Lora to confront emotional and moral dilemmas.

All of this unfolds just before Lyakov loses memory of who he is, where he is, and why he lives. On a winter night, Lora and Lyakov are drawn into a dramatic situation that brings a musical finale to a long prelude.
