CentEast Market, 14-16 October 2016 - call for submissions!

Call for works-in-progress from Eastern Europe is now opening for the 12th edition of CentEast Market, which will take place 14-16 October 2016, during the 32nd Warsaw Film Festival. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 2nd of September 2016. Please submit feature length fiction and documentary films made for cinema release, which meet the following criteria:

- coming from Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, or Ukraine;

- fiction features and feature-length documentaries for intended theatrical release, which are works-in-progress (films in advanced shooting period and in post-production) or completed films before their premiere;

- not having been presented during any other film festival or market outside of their country of origin, apart from co-production events.

The aim of CentEast Market, organized by Warsaw Film Foundation since 2005, is to give the films from the eligible regions more exposure to the international market and to provide them with distribution opportunities. Presenting about 20 projects and finished films, with a couple of hundred international professionals in attendance, CentEast Market creates a great networking platform for sales agents, distributors, festival programmers and producers, interested in Eastern European cinema.

CentEast's highlights will include:

* CentEast Warsaw-Moscow - the presentation of selected Eastern European works-in-progress, which will be held in Warsaw October 14, 2016, and then repeated in Moscow a couple of days later, in collaboration with our Russian partner TVINDIE

* Warsaw Screenings - since 2000; screenings of selected newest Polish films

* Warsaw Next - workshops for young Polish filmmakers

* FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project - workshop for young and aspiring journalists and film critics organized in collaboration with the International Federation of Film Critics (FIRPESCI).

The detailed programme of the Market will be announced at the beginning of October 2016.
