"The Wild Pear Tree" by Nuri Bilge Ceylan is in the competition program in Cannes Film Festival!

For the first time in 23 years bulgarian co-production will compete for the "Golden palm"

The 8th full-length film of the Turkish film master, who is winner of Golden Palm award and six other awards from the most prestigious film festival in the world, is co-production between Turkey, France, Germany, Bulgaria (RFF International), Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Sweden and Qatar.

Producer of the film is Zeynep Atakan. Co-producer on the Bulgarian side is the director of Sofia Film Fest Stefan Kitanov. The film is supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center, Euroimage, Co-Producer Funds and in partnership with the New Boyana Film Studio in Sofia.

Sinan is passionate about literature and has always wanted to be a writer. Returning to the village where he was born, he pours his heart and soul into scraping together the money he needs to be published, but his father’s debts catch up with him.

There are exciting days ahead. We are wishing success to “The Wild Pear Tree”, Nuri Bilge Ceylan and his team at Cannes!
