The film follows the aerial struggle to protect the sovereignty of the Bulgarian sky and land in the period from 1912 to 1945, with an emphasis on the Anglo-American bombing during the Second World War. With numerous archival footages, documents, photos and analyses of processes in politics and military affairs, the history and the most striking events of the air war are traced. The film explores the battles in the Bulgarian skies during the Balkan and First World Wars. The main highlights are the large-scale punitive actions of the Anglo-American aviation during the Second World War, and more specifically in the period 1943-1944. This war was called "symbolic" by Bulgarian politicians. The price of this symbolism is paid by the Bulgarian people and the Bulgarian fighter pilots in an epic struggle for the survival of the nation from the incoming bomber armadas.
