ELECTRIC YU-TOPIA

A story about a rock and roll group that outlived the country it was named after, but also a family story. The film follows the three Jelich brothers, born and raised along with the new Yugoslavia in the 1940s. An epic yet profoundly personal work, it creatively uses previously unreleased family Super 8 films and archival footage to tell a story of endurance, love and struggle. Eighty years of life, 60+ years of playing rock and roll, 50+ years of YU Grupa and 45 years of a former country went into this unique film, which took seven years in production and more than two years in post-production.
